History of the Jordan Stadium 90 Men’s Casual Shoe
The Stadium 90′s were released in May 2023, and combine design inspiration from the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 5. The Stadium 90’s are one Jordan’s latest everyday sneakers as they’re pumping out different color ways with the shoe gaining popularity. The upper includes a similar toe box from the AJ1 and flame details from the AJ5 that resemble shark teeth and flame detailing, inspired from an WW2 American fighter plane. The shoe pays homage to the legendary and original Air Jordan designer Tinker Hatfield.

Jordan Stadium 90 Sizing
The sizing of the Jordan Stadium 90 are a little tricky. Like most Nikes, they’re narrow. But the perforated Jordan 1 style toe box is roomy and wider than the sides of the shoe. I’d recommend getting half a size down since they run big.
The toe box gets much wider from the body so if your feet are a little wide and you have to get a size down, you run the risk of cramming your feet with smaller sizing. If your feet are narrower, you should be fine getting half a size down to make up for the toe box space.
The quality of the toe box is leather, but its not premium and is pretty stiff. The leather in the upper in general is heavily polyurethane coated so its plasticky and hard. Would be nice if the leather was premium so the $140 retail price could be justified.
A major appeal to this shoe are the Air Jordan features that were pulled in from other Jordan shoes from the past. The Air Jordan 1 toe box being one of those features. Its basic, but its a familiar aspect that Jordan fans will recognize.
The other familiar feature coming from previous Jordan’s is the flame design that sits right above the midsole on the suede overlay. This design was originally on the Jordan 5, stemming from a WW2 American fighter plane. Its subtle and if you aren’t obsessed with the Jordan V’s you would probably overlook it.
Jordan Stadium 90 Quality – Outsole and Midsole
The outsole of the Stadium 90’s are classic rubber with a design unique to the shoe. Along the sail color of the sole you can see the shoe curve and narrow. The rubber is super grippy and good quality but we wouldn’t recommend going crazy in these for the gym, cross training, basketball, etc.
The midsole is foam and is Jordan branded “Formula 23”. Its a lightweight responsive foam that was used in a handful of other Jordans previously. It doesn’t have a ton of bounce and its not built for intense performance. Theres a Nike Air unit in the heel of the shoe thats built within. Its comfortable but its not the best thing in the world.

Another classic touch to the Stadium 90’s is the Nike Air heel branding. Its the same branding found on Air Max’s and Jordan’s, old and new. Paired with the sail suede, it gives a retro feel.
The upper collar is also pulled from the Jordan 5’s. The quality of this piece is pretty disappointing. It has a very plasticky and has a synthetic feel.
Jumpman Logo Tag
Another small feature pulled from the Jordan collection is the iconic Jumpman logo, the classic silhouette of Michael Jordan dunking. The logo is found right above the mesh on the medial side and in the middle of the outsole. It doesn’t serve any purpose or function. Its just more Jordan branding to let the common sneaker fan know that this shoe is a Jordan collaboration.
Suede Overlays
The sail suede overlays are all over the lateral and medial sides, the toe, and the heel. I love this look. The material is actual suede and it does flake off here and there. Theres something about sail suede that immediately gives any sneaker a retro clean look.
The game royal suede Nike swoosh is a big time throwback look too. They kept the royal Nike swoosh on the lateral side in suede but made the medial side swoosh leather.
The nice part about suede is that it can give and these should stretch a bit over time if your feet are on the wider side.
Jordan Stadium 90 Tongue
The tongue on the 90’s is a standard nylon material with stitching down the length of the tongue. The spacing of the stitching helps the tongue sit on top of the foot. Its pretty comfortable.
A stitched on tag with the Stadium 90 logo completes the retro look.

Jordan Stadium 90 for basketball and the gym
These are an athletic lifestyle and everyday shoes, not an active shoe. Even though the outsole is grippy, personally I wouldn’t run long distances or play basketball in them. Basic lifting maybe, but if you power lift choose a sneaker with flat sole and base.
Jordan Stadium 90 Men’s Casual Shoe Styling and Outfits
We wore the Stadium 90’s with jeans. We prefer loose fitting jeans with straight fit openings. We liked leaving the last eyelet vacant to give the laces a floppy look with looser fitting pants.
Since these come up to the height of the ankle, wearing skinny jeans or pants will give off Nike Blazer high top vibes.
Jordan Stadium 90 Men’s Casual Shoe for the Office: It resembles a basketball shoe so if your office is pretty casual they should be good to wear. I wouldn’t dress them up or visit clients in these but they are ok to bop around the office on a casual day.

- Good price. These were originally a $140 shoe but they’re settling in the $70-$90 range depending on the site and discount. These are not a $140 sneaker so the new market price feels fair.
- More and more color ways will be released. For the right price you could stack a couple of these in different colors
