About Nike Dunk HI Retro SE Men’s Shoe
This special edition of the Nike Dunk Highs in honeydew were released December of 2022. The original Dunk High’s were created and designed by Peter Moore in 1986 (also the creator of the Air Jordan 1’s) as a basketball sneaker. The Dunk High’s were pushed by Nike to colleges, worn by the University of Iowa, University of Kentucky, University of Michigan, Georgetown, St. John’s, UNLV, and Syracuse. Quickly, the Dunk High’s were embraced by schools and fans. They exploded at the college level but they quickly became irrelevant and obsolete because Nike was rapidly evolving their brand and sneaker technology into other products. Overall consumer interest plummeted and the only places Dunk High’s were available for purchase were second hand stores. The reemergence of the Dunk High’s happened in the 90’s when the the skateboarding community adopted them as THE shoe because of added cushioning and support. Nike quickly realized this and released spin off versions of the Highs, with low-top versions and the Nike SB Dunk line.
